 This Indenture of Mortgage made the second day of January One thousand eight hundred and eighty two Between JOHN EDWARD FORD of 96 East India Dock Road in the County of Middlesex Gentleman of the first part MARY BAKER of Brentwood in the County of Essex Widow and HANNAH ANN BAKER of the same place spinster of the other part

Witnesseth that in consideration of Three thousand eight Pounds paid to the said John Edward Ford by the said Mary Baker and Hannah Ann Baker out of money belonging to them on a joint account (of which sum the said John Edward Ford hereby acknowledges the receipt) the said John Edward Ford hereby covenants with the said Mary Baker and Hannah Ann Baker to pay to them on the twenty fourth day of June One thousand eight hundred and eighty two the sum of Three thousand eight hundred Pounds with interest thereon in the meantime at the rate of Four and a quarter per centum per annum and also as long after that date as any principal moneys remain due under this Mortgage to pay to the said Mary Baker and Hannah Ann Baker interest thereon at the same rate by equal half yearly payments on the twenty fourth day of June and the twenty fifth day of December

And this Indenture also witnesseth that for the same consideration the said John Edward Ford as beneficial owner hereby conveys to the said Mary Baker and Hannah Ann Baker

Firstly all that piece or parcel of land situate at Tottenham in the County of Middlesex containing by admeasurement one rood five perches forming a portion of the abandoned channel or bed of the New River and bounded on each side by the lands hereinafter described and intended to hereby conveyed together with the pipes fences and bridge in or upon the said piece or parcel of land

And secondly all that messuage or tenement with barns stables outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate at Clay Hill Tottenham aforesaid together with by estimation Twenty five acres and nineteen perches formerly in the tenure or occupation of William Heath and now of Robert Rowley Chapman

And also all that cottage with the garden and appurtenances thereto belonging formerly in the tenure or occupation of William Samuel Richards and of James Sadler which said Cottage adjoins the said messuage or Tenement lands and premises situate at Clay Hill aforesaid all which aid premises were subsequently in the occupation of Joseph Fletcher or his under tenants

And thirdly all that Messuage or Tenement with the Barns stables outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate at Clay Hill aforesaid Together with two pieces or parcels of Land formerly three pieces thereto belonging and nearly adjoining containing by estimation Ten acres three roods and eighteen perches formerly in the occupation of John Thompson Esquire and now or late in the occupation of the said Robert Rowley Chapman with the exception of a small paddock containing Three roods and Thirty one perches in the occupation of the said James Sadler

To hold to and to the use of the said Mary Baker and Hannah Ann Baker in fee simple subject to the proviso for redemption following (namely) that if the said John Edward Ford or any person claiming under him shall on the twenty fourth day of June one thousand one hundred and eighty two pay to the said Mary Baker and Hannah Ann Baker the sum of Three thousand eight hundred Pounds and interest thereon at the rate aforesaid then the said Mary Baker or Hannah Ann Baker or the persons claiming under them will at the request and the cost of the said John Edward Ford or the persons claiming under him reconvey the premises to the said John Edward Ford or the persons claiming under him
